Out of the Blue #1 - A Weekly Harvest of Sacred Invitations
Five Newsletters, Infinite Openings to the Mystery of Who You Are
Each day, from Sunday to Friday, a seed is sown—creativity, energy, spirit, presence, and stillness. Out of the Blue gathers the fruit of that week’s writing, offering you a single place to pause, reflect, and receive the distilled essence of the unfolding.
This is the first week that I am publishing the newsletter Out of the Blue. This is the first week that I have started my Substack newsletter schedule that follows the following format.
• Sunday – Mindful Gardening.
• Monday – Out of the Blue (Summary)
• Tuesday – Unfolding Creativity.
• Wednesday – A Chakra Journey.
• Thursday – Bringing Heaven to Earth.
• Friday – A Yoga Life.
Out of the Blue contains the conclusions at the end of each of these newsletters. In this way readers with different interests might find an invitation that speaks to their heart. Here are the newsletter summaries that began on Sunday 23rd March 2025.

Mindful Gardening Newsletter No 52
Writing, Reflection, and the Inner Garden
As I sit with the fullness of a year’s worth of Mindful Gardening Newsletters, I feel the gentle tug of gratitude for the rhythm of this sacred work. Each season, each seedling, each setback and celebration has deepened my relationship with the Earth and with the quiet joy of tending life—within and without.
From leggy seedlings in the North-facing bedroom to plans for solar-powered heated benches… from birthday bunting to birdhouses… from iris and nasturtiums dancing like Monet’s palette along the hornbeam hedge to cups of tea cradled at dawn while I write… all of this is gardening. All of this is mindfulness. All of this is love in form.
When a garden is used as a place to pause for thought, that is when a Zen Garden comes to life. When you contemplate a garden like this it will form as lasting impression on your heart. - Muso Soseki in The Temple in the House by Anthony Lawlor
Gardening is more than growing plants. It is learning to live in rhythm with what is real. It is letting go of perfection and embracing Presence. It is making peace with the cycles of light and darkness and listening—truly listening—to what the land, the wind, and your heart song has to say to you.

Unfolding Creativity Newsletter
The Challenge of Keeping the Window Open
Everyone at some point in their life is called to keep the window open. This is the window of the heart. Our educational system doesn't train us for that. Religion is supposed to do so, but for the most part has failed miserably.
I wish that when you are lonely and in darkness that I could show you the magnificence of the light of your own BEING – Hafiz of Shiraz – mystic Sufi poet.
As an unfolding creative, I start my day in embodied silence. I focus on quieting the never-ending stream of thought with passes for thinking. I practice inner body awareness because it is through the body the experience of the singing bird is made manifest. I get empty so that I might be fulfilled.
Then I sit in that emptiness before a blank page and the words simply flow onto the page. Sometimes the hand stops. That's OK, but more often than not here is the experience of being like a river amazed by its own unfolding. (John O’Donohue). The singing bird by way of words on a page has arrived. While I am not ecstatic, I feel delighted. I am set up for another day of loving as a fulfilled unfolding, creative. How is it that you start your day?

Bringing Heaven to Earth - Week 2 -Seek Yeh First?
An Invitation to Move Beyond Belief, Embrace Divine Presence, and Live the Light of Heaven Here and Now
This is the invitation of Bringing Heaven to Earth—not to believe in a distant promise, but to awaken to the living reality of Heaven as a present experience within you. The words of the Master Jesus were not meant to offer mere doctrine but to ignite direct realization: “The Kingdom of God is within you.” These words were not just radical in their time—they remain just as revolutionary today because they call for nothing less than a transformation of how we see ourselves, God, and existence itself.
The journey into this KNOWING is not about accumulating more theological knowledge or striving to be “good enough” for Heaven. It is about surrendering the false self, the separate identity that believes it must achieve or deserve divine union. Heaven is not a reward; it is a reality hidden in plain sight, obscured only by the veil of mistaken identity. When this veil is lifted, the imprisoned splendour—the radiant presence of the Divine—shines forth.
So, the invitation is this: Make the words “Heaven is within you” your guiding focus. Let them sink beyond the intellect and into your very being. Allow them to shape your seeing, your living, your surrender. Let them dissolve old concepts and open you to direct encounter. And in doing so, you may discover what has always been true: Heaven is not a distant place, but the reality of Divine Presence shining through you, waiting to be known. This is the path. This is the invitation. This is the unfolding revelation of Bringing Heaven to Earth.

A Yoga Journey – Week 2 – What is Yoga?
Unveiling the Path to Union Beyond Form and Belief
The journey of yoga is not about acquiring something new but remembering what has always been. It is a return to the unity that has never been lost—only forgotten. Yoga, in its truest sense, is not merely a practice but a profound experience of BEING, an unfolding of the self into the SELF.
Your own Self-Realization is the greatest service you can render the world.— Sri Ramana Maharshi
As we embark on this path together, we step beyond belief into revelation, beyond form into formlessness, beyond seeking into KNOWING. The invitation is not to learn something new but to unlearn all that keeps us from experiencing our inherent wholeness. This is the paradox of yoga: while we may feel separate, we are never truly apart.
If you feel the pull of this deeper journey—if something within you longs to die before you die, to shed illusion and step into the fullness of BEING—then welcome. The path is open, the adventure awaits. Will you take the step?
